- Cory FergusonWe have used these for 15+ years and can’t say enough about them. Talk about maintenance free. This is it. - 1/18/2019Anne P.I am very happy with the drinking post. I have installed shorter ones for my goats and regular sized for my horses. Happy to say they all caught on quickly and seem to enjoy drinking from them. The company was easy to deal with when a part can broken they sent me a whole new waterer. - 4/16/2021Tonia Marshallthey are maintenance free and fresh water on demand, - 10/03/2018
- Doug D.I've had 4 drinkers for my horses for several years now. This year's heat and drought have been TRYING! But I don't waste any water. The units always deliver clean, fresh, and cool water. I don't need to be cleaning green slime out of units every 2 days. In the heat of the day the horses are not standing at a tank splashing out valuable water that is no longer cool. Even when I move horses to a different location, they have no problem finding the drinkers. These are quality units! They are simple to repair when needed! They are priced fairly! It's a win win for us. - 4/16/2022Larry H.I love it!!!! no more checking the trough, no more cleaning the trough, I did take the advice of another review and built a cage out of 1x1x1/4 angle iron I had around the farm, same length as the post and buried with the post. Glad I did, the first day 10 cows figured it out, they were pretty rough around the post. Haven't had this during the winter yet, but I'm not expecting to have any problems since I went an extra foot deeper than recommended depth with good gravel ground and excellent drainage. Really glad I bought two, both pastures have clean fresh water all the time. Highly recommend, no wires, breakers, and if my power goes out, which happens more than I like, I'm able to run my water pump with a back up generator and not worry about the extra draw to run a heater also! - 4/16/2022Beth W.Once installed, through the water filter, this has been the easiest thing ever. It took the horses a little while to figure out but now they all love it. Only buckets I clean is in their stalls. They rarely drink out of that and I think its because its not clean enough. LOL! I just go by occasionally and make sure it is clean (grass, rock, leaves, bird poop). Now I'm wanting one for my goats. - 7/16/2023
- Wendy J.I wish I would have done this sooner. No winter electric bill spike to keep the water from freezing. Fresh water all the time and easy to install!! - 4/16/2022Polly McGannI’ve had my drinking post watered in Northern Illinois for 3+ years, two horses, and it’s been a champion! I often say it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. What’s not to love? Easy, safe, healthy for the horses, time and money savings. Had to do some minor maintenance on it this year, replaced the bowl since the holder for a screw did eventually wear down. The maintenance videos are all well done, but I still called for some help and got the best customer service you can imagine. It’s deceptively simple but don’t underestimate it! - 12/07/2018Dean C.Drinking post is just as they claim. My horses have always used a trough. Anyone that has used or uses a trough knows that in the winter you always have to make sure the heater is working and in the summer always keeping it clean from insects. My horses learned quickly to use the post and seem to be drinking more often. I would recommend this to anyone that is just thinking about getting one and on the fence about it. It might be a little more work than a trough to get started but it is well worth the effort for you and your livestock. - 4/16/2021
- Nadine C.I was skeptical that my mini’s would be able to use the watering post but after dealing with hot Florida summers, mold and hoses I really wanted to give it a try. In the beginning the ponies couldn’t figure out the paddle. I contacted Drinking Post and they sent out a much larger paddle (looks like a brick) and they took to it right away. I am happy to report that even my 6 week old colt has mastered the watering post. - 6/10/2020Stacy S.I absolutely love these posts for our goats, cows, mini horses and donkey! easy to use and to train everyone to use them! - 3/13/2021Tim M.Effective, worry free, easy to maintain. We have owned our drinking post for almost a year now and it works exactly as expected. I needed to unclog the inlet filter today because of sediment from our well. I followed the instructions on the website and it only took about 20 minutes. Very pleased. - 4/16/2023
- Warren A.-33 and frost free! - 2/16/2024Laura Anne GalbraithExcellent customer service! We had some trouble with extreme weather this year and Brad Piper called and helped us immediately! Thank you so much - 3/12/2019Holly S.Evening water cooler meeting of the minds! 😆 Wonder what those pipes are for??? If you have horses you MUST invest in The Drinking Post. This is the most incredible and smartest horse investment I have EVER made. These posts are worth their weight in gold. And they pay for themselves! There is no electricity to them!! They are set 18” below the frost line which means water is the perfect temperature 365 days a year. I NEVER have to clean a trough again or bust ice in the winter. I have even noticed clearer ”pp” because they drink so much more. 😉 I have had them installed since January they went through winter without issue. Summer has been great too with all this nasty heat I knew their water was fresh, clean, and cool! The boys were shown how to push the paddle ONCE and took to it like a fish in water. No, I don’t work for them…just a happy happy customer!! My horse chores have been cut drastically. No hoses to drag (200ft), no filling and dumping, no scrubbing…NOTHING! All I have to do is give grain twice a day as their hay is in huts! It takes less than 10 min. Insane! 😍 They are truly incredible!! - 8/17/2022
- Carla M DarrowOur drinking post has worked well in the -30 degree range here in upstate NY. We were’nt sure how it would hold up to the low temps and abundance of snow but so far no problems. - 2/04/2019Maureen T.We bought our drinking posts about 3 years ago. I have had zero issues with them. We are on a well so once every fall I do take them apart and fully clean them since I do get sediment from the well. However city water should have no issues. My cows have fresh water even on the coldest days and we had record negative temps last winter! The drinking posts did great. I will be ordering more as we add more pens around the barn area. These are a must have for anyone that deals with frozen hoses, tank heaters, evaporation, and algae build up in normal waterers. They are great for horses and cattle and pigs as well. A post for our pigs is in the list for next summer. - 11/16/2023Charles K.I installed two last fall nieghbors were cautious about them and cold weather 2 weeks ago we had negative 20 temp with minus 34 wind chill and they worked as advertised while my other waters were a solid block of ice. Those cold temperatures lasted 10 days very pleased and would recommend for anyone. - 3/02/2021
- Susan T.We installed DP two years ago in both our barn and pasture. Couldn't be more happy. We had a terrible long winter in the PNW and midst the ice and snow the DP's never failed. Such a gift not to have to plug in water heaters and deal with breaking ice. We bring in new horses for training and it has been amazing to me how quickly they learn to drink from the DP. Thrilled with our product and the help and service we have received. - 5/16/2019Delroy B.The watering post has been the best thing that I have done for my 3 horses, not to mention no more filling and cleaning water tubs! Amazing! - 4/16/2023Cheryl D.they dont freeze in winter and cold fresh water in the summer - 3/05/2020
- Dean W.Started with 4' not thinking the frost would go that deep, my bad... Called and was sent what was needed to extend to 6'. Fantastic Customer service. You can bet I will buy more as my operation grows. Good Job Guys.. - 4/16/2021Polly M.I think it's been about 6 or 7 years with a DPW and going strong. Northern Illinois winter is no problem. Why anyone is still using heated waterers is a mystery to me. The DPW pays for itself in the savings compared to the energy use of a heated waterer, not to mention how little maintenance it needs. - 4/16/2022Olori I.I'm using this opportunity to tell the world that I'm cured . Can't believe i get cured from Cancer disease thank you Dr Zubby make God bless you. Get cured today visit https://www.facebook.com/dr.zubby1 Email 📧 [email protected] - 10/16/2022
- Matt H.We installed 2 of the drinking posts and 1 of the Classic Equine waterers. Our horses prefer the drinking post. Water is colder for them. Make sure you put a hard surface around though, the horse can make a mess. - 4/16/2023Claudette T.It's reliable....when the winter winds are blowing you know your animals have fresh water, when it's a hot summer day they have cool fresh water!! Love it!!! - 5/08/2020Maxine D.I should have installed these waterers years ago. If you are looking for one thing that will make your horse owning life easier, my advice would be to get drinking post waterers installed. - 4/16/2021
- Julie B.We installed our first drinking post a few months ago in our Welsh pony's field. He figured out how to use it immediately and seems to enjoy playing with it too. My other horse has a traditional water trough with a float and in the summer weather it turns green and needs dumped and cleaned every few days. The drinking post on the other hand provides clean, cool water on demand and takes no work on my part. I really like it! I will eventually install one for my horse too. Recommend this product. - 8/16/2023Roy Y.We have 5 drinking post waterers 3 of them have been in use for 3years + 2new ones this year they work great in Wyoming. I highly recommend them for cows horses & Donkey's - 4/16/2021MaKenna M.We love our drinking post! It was very easy to install and the horses figured it out quickly - 2/20/2020
