Our waterer was designed in Rye, Colorado in the early 1970’s. The seasonal temperature swings between summer and winter left something to be desired from any of the automatic waterers available prior to the 1970’s. There were essentially a few major categories of waterers; float systems or thermos type systems. This is what spawned the idea for the Drinking Post Waterer. What was developed was the first non electric automatic waterer.
Our intent was to keep things simple, strong, and inherently reliable. Thankfully, this goal was accomplished and the result is the Drinking Post Waterer.
